The Head of Technical Services is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, workflows and evaluation of all technical services activities for the Blackmore and Hamma Libraries (Library Services). In addition, this position serves as the libraries' cataloging and metadata librarian, oversees acquisitions and budgets, and provides systems support for the ILS (Sierra). The position supervises technical services paraprofessional and student staff, and works closely with librarians, faculty, and other staff to ensure the accessibility of library resources.

The successful candidate will be able to: develop effective relationships with library staff, university colleagues, vendors, and members of OhioLINK and other consortia; manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently and effectively; serve as a role model and leader for technical services staff; and ensure that the libraries' cataloging practices and collections reflect current approaches to information organization, discovery, and access.
As a member of the librarian team, the Head of Technical Services will provide search, reference, and discovery assistance through virtual services such as email and chat when scheduled.
