Job Overview
The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an attorney to serve as an Associate General Counsel. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel. Key Responsibilities
- Review a large volume of contracts (800 ), amendments (200 ), and procuring documents each year.
- Provide legal support for grants and contracts entered into between the department and any supplier of services, products, equipment, and/or computer software.
- Provide legal guidance on contract drafting, interpretation, and other legal issues related to purchasing and department operations.
- Assist the Senior Associate in interactions with department programs, the Department's Division of Administrative Services, and other state agencies, such as the Department of General Services.
- Assist with promulgating rules within the department.
- Assist with legislative projects, including bill analysis.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, including public records requests.
