What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intensive Family Preservation Skill Builder position at Capstone Behavioral Health?
The Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) Skill Builder provides support and assists the IFP Therapist with services to children and families. The IFP Skill Builder utilizes a variety of educational approaches to assist youth and families in stabilizing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employee will be responsible for maintaining an environment in which the level of customer satisfaction generates no more than one complaint every three months. In addition, Employee will be responsible for promoting Employer philosophies, a desirable working environment, and employee satisfaction.
Employee will be responsible for providing services via Employer’s structured treatment programs. Such services may include activities related to, but not limited to:
- Provide culturally competent home-based services, education and support to enable children to remain in the home setting.
- Assist families in acquiring basic living skills, including parenting, household management and emotional/behavioral regulation.
- Complete and/or review IFP Intervention Plan with IFP therapist and with treatment team.
· Implement IFP goals generated by the IFP therapist.
- Attend team meetings and staffing while collaborating in treatment delivery.
- Maintain 24/7 availability to clients through an on-call rotation.
- Attend meetings, seminars and other educational functions of the agency as identified by supervisor.
- Provide, maintain and submit needed documentation for the purpose of noting family progress.
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings/case conceptualization.
- Follow mandatory reporting laws. When a child is endangered, either in areas of health, neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse, all staff is legally obligated to report that information to authorities.
- Maintain a current Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance, (as required by agency’s insurer). Demonstrates understanding of and adheres to the Code of Conduct.

- Adheres to and abides by all policies and procedures as reflected in the Employee Handbook, Department policy manuals, and all other applicable manuals.
- Ensures child files contain all required past and present records (i.e. medical, mental health, educational, birth, etc).
- Monitors, updates, and corrects client information as needed.
- Establish a working relationship with the clients so they feel safe and secure.
- Responds to client’s needs promptly and maintains professionalism in dealing with any issues that arise.
- Asks questions to check for clarification, commits to follow-through.
- Demonstrate ability to submit timely reports and quality documentation.
- Attends monthly team meetings to ensure service collaboration and updates.
- Attends court hearings as requested; presents professionally and communicates effectively.
- Makes appropriate decisions when dealing with clients to facilitate safety, permanency, and well-being. Will consult with the supervisor when needed or when questions arise.
- Makes decisions based on Capstone Behavioral Health policy and procedures.
- Addresses problems/issues and/or opportunities and works to achieve the desired outcomes
- Formulates clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences; chooses an effective option.
- Implements decisions or initiates action within a reasonable time
- Turning in billing on a weekly basis to their direct supervisor by Midnight on Sunday.
- Producing a minimum of 15 billable hours per week if part time. Produces a minimum of 30 billable hours per week if full time.
- Tracking authorizations of clients on caseload.
- Providing transportation to clients as authorized and necessary.
- Turning in monthly summaries by the 3rd of the month.
- Documentation is due within 24 hours of service.
