What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Buyer position at CapstoneONE Search?

We are representing a globally renowned leading automotive supplier who is actively seeking an Electrical Components Program Buyer due to newly awarded business and the continual flow of RFQ's (request for quote). This role will be a "strategically" oriented position that will work closely with new Program Launches.

POSITION OVERVIEW

A primary responsibility of this position is to ensure on-time launch for programs and delivery at or below target costs for piece price, tooling, etc. as well as work effectively with the project team to meet targets for quality, delivery and other cost areas.
Work with engineering, commodity managers, supplier development engineers, program managers, to ensure supplier performance and deliverables are met and to identify cost and timing issues and resolve them.
Ensure sourcing activity is in line with cost targets and Purchasing processes (global bidder’s list), driving the coordination of commodity strategies with the goals of the individual programs.
Assist in strategic evaluation of suppliers by conducting research, analysis and/or participating in the selection process. Following selection, participate in the development and launch of new suppliers and conduct negotiations for/with the commodity team.
Represent Purchasing at a variety of reviews related to program launch (sourcing committee, design review, launch readiness review, program review, etc.).
Work with global purchasing team to address continuous improvement actions / process reviews.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field
Experience with Electrical Components purchasing required.
Candidate should have at least 3 years of Purchasing experience with the automotive industry.
Proficiency in Procurement Fundamentals in regard to negotiations, sourcing, contracting, and risk management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
