JOB DESCRIPTION:
The estimator will work as a member of a team to prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. These estimates will be assembled and presented through numerical and descriptive information. The estimator will also prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Responsibilities:
· Provide estimates with a focus on heavy highway, bridges, utilities, and site-work.
· Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site-work evaluations.
· Identify labor, material, and time requirements required to perform work.
· Quantity takeoffs and complete estimate preparation for utilities, concrete, and earthwork.
· Subcontractor, supplier, and client interactions.
· Ability to multi-task and handle tight deadlines.
· Ability to estimate entire project or as part of estimating team depending on size & scope of project.
· Ability to bid underground pipe, marine, and site development.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, or other related degree.
· Minimum 2-5 years heavy civil construction experience.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in HCSS and Microsoft Office.
· Primavera and Autocad skills.
· Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal.
Salary: $58,000-$62,000
