Job Summary:
The Cardiac Device Technician (CDT) provides administrative, clinical, and patient support care to cardiac device patients. The CDT uses special technology to create images or perform tests that help physicians assess and diagnose medical conditions and perform medical procedures. Their duties include operating imaging equipment to create diagnostic images or perform tests, preparing patients for and monitoring them during cardiovascular medical procedures, and analyzing and reviewing images and records.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Does full evaluation and assessment of patients with pacemakers, ICD's, CRT devices, and ILR's; Reprograms devices as required.
Enrolls, interrogates, and programs patients with cardiac devices and recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions, and alert indicators.
Assists in scheduling patients for follow-up, remote monitoring, or replacement as indicated.
Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the healthcare team to respond to patients, plan, and initiate timely and efficient care.
Educates patients and families regarding device function and remote and/or clinic follow up scheduling.
Ensures timely and proper documentation and billing.
Participates in the device recall team if necessary.
Supports all aspects of documentation in the electronic CIED reporting system and the Electronic Medical Record.
Maintains knowledge of hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and requirements.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular or Allied Health Training program required.
Licensure/Certificate:
CRAT credential/certification required. In lieu of credential, a candidate may have a minimum three (3) years of experience in a CIED clinic with one (l) year of experience having been within the past three (3) years AND must be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
Certification from a recognized Cardiac Device Training School (i.e. ATI, IBHRE, Medtronic Academy) OR experience reviewing and managing remote device transmission (ex. Carelink, Latitude and Merlin).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years preferred in Cardiac Device or CIED industry experience.

Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour
