Job Title: Referral Queue Scheduler

Summary: The Referral Queue Scheduler is responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments efficiently and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule testing to be performed at PHI/CSC.
- Schedule or reschedule appointments for patients as needed.
- Attach all electronic Epic referrals to appointments at PHI/CSC.
- Schedule all referrals that are sent to PHI/CSC.
- Call on and schedule referrals from the referral queue.
- Notify Patient Re if referral is needed for patient’s appointment due to insurance change, walk-in, etc.
- Arrange for interpreting services as needed per protocol.
- Back up appointment desk as needed or directed by Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Travel to any of the various Cardiac Study Center locations (Auburn, Gig Harbor, Olympia, Puyallup, and Tacoma).
- Work a minimum of 45 referrals daily, 50 mid and 55 stretch.
- Back up our Quick Clinic/Staff Messages scheduler and performing their duties when out of the office.
- Work in conjunction with the Referral Queue Scheduling Team, and Appointment Desk team. They will back both teams up if requested.
- Perform other appointment desk duties as requested.
- May be asked to come into the office on occasion to assist with appointment desk duties.
- Other duties related to this position are as follows but not limited to: Project Access patient care coordinating, Firefighter/Police Officer TM scheduling, TG Internal Med TM scheduling, STEMI/NSTEMI scheduling, Valve Clinic, Western State Hospital.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

- Deliver care that is safe in conjunction with the physician orders, and department standards at all times.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Travel: This position will require occasional travel between Auburn and Puyallup to assist with team shortages.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures.
