What are the responsibilities and job description for the Café Staff position at Cardinal Cushing Centers?
Cushing Café, serving Breakfast and lunch is located in the Cushing Marketplace, on the Cardinal Cushing Centers campus in Hanover, MA. We are a scratch kitchen making all of our baked goods fresh daily, sandwiches are made to order and we serve locally roasted coffees. In addition to serving the public great food and beverages, Cushing Café provides food service training and employment for many of Cushing students and adults.

Your primary responsibilities will be to provide café coverage where needed in the back or front of the house. This includes front of the house; direct customer service, waiting on customer, taking and processing orders, collecting payment, maintaining baked goods and grab and go inventory, coffees, soups, restocking paper goods, dining room maintenance. In back of the house includes; prepping stations, making sandwiches, working the grill, running food to guests, assist with baking cleaning and dish station.
Schedule:
35-40 hours weekly: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Generally day hours. Sunday and Tuesday off.
As café staff you will be scheduled as needed to cover all open hours of the café. The end shift times are estimated but not firm due to nature of restaurant hours. In addition, you may be called upon to fill-in for staff who are unable to work their scheduled shifts, for staff storages and special events.

Working Conditions
Stands on feet for extended periods of time move around the restaurant and tight spaces comfortably, walk or stand 100% of shift and reach, bend, stoop, mop and sweep. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on regular basis or as needed Works with food service equipment and machinery that can be extremely hot or very sharp and occasionally be exposed to cold temperatures (walk in freezer/refrigerator).

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
