POSITION: Senior Systems Administrator (Full-Time, Exempt)
COMPENSATION: Pursuant to applicable regulations, if this job is performed in a relevant State, the salary range is $80,000-$90,000 plus bonus potential. SUMMARY:
As a Senior Systems Administrator, you are an IT professional who oversees the Cardinal computer systems, network security and cloud infrastructure. You will be a valuable addition to the IT & Data team, bringing a broad range of system administration, technical, troubleshooting, security and operational support skills to the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain applications and network infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Consult with management to analyze computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine the scope and priorities of projects, and discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
- Proactively work to improve the reliability, stability, and security of the cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans, including information backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
- Recommend and develop plans for systems procurement, development, and operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, cost control, and legal and regulatory compliance.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Perform troubleshooting and proactive activities, including incident review and analysis, root cause identification, and process improvement, to maintain stable operations.
- Follow ITIL best practices to manage IT Helpdesk tickets. Focus on customer service to the end user.
- Participate in Cardinal U training as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- 4 years in a System Administrator role or equivalent experience.
- Experience with network design, implementation, support, and operation
- Working knowledge of security practices including data loss prevention, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with cloud configuration, monitoring, and security. Google Cloud experience is a plus.
- Operate with professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skills.
- Experience with business systems, enterprise applications, development software, cloud applications, and email systems. Google Workspace experience preferred.
- Accomplished at building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet strict deadlines and prioritize assigned projects and tasks accordingly.
- Problem solves and thinking outside of the box; ability to manage and resolve stressful client and team member situations.
- Proficient in Windows and Mac desktop support. Experience with Jamf is a plus.
- Enthusiastic self-starter possessing leadership ability as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.
