Are you looking for a career that makes a difference?  Cardinal Hayes Home is a non-profit agency serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We are seeking a Full Time Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join our team in Millbrook, NY.

As the Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS), you will be primarily responsible for completing comprehensive functional behavior assessments and developing/updating behavior support plans for individuals, emphasizing positive approaches to teaching replacement behaviors.

Schedule: Full Time, Day-Time Hours

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
  • Master’s degree from a Clinical or Treatment field of Psychology or Social Work and must meet OPWDD specific BIS credentials
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office
What You’ll Do as the Behavior Intervention Specialist (Responsibilities):
  • Complete/update comprehensive functional behavior assessments for individuals displaying undesirable and/or socially unacceptable behavior
  • Develop/update behavior support plans
  • Provide training, guidance, and coaching to the staff regarding behavior support interventions
  • Collect, review, and file data
  • Report trends in positive outcomes and areas of concern
  • Ensure data is entered into the OPWDD’s Restrictive Intervention Application (RIA) and provide quarterly reports
  • Communicate regularly with psychiatrists
  • Remain current with regards to OPWDD and ICF regulatory changes and updates
  • Additional duties as assigned
Pay: $30 - $38.08 / hour, based on experience
