Product Designer

We’re looking for a driven product designer. One who’s excited to craft products and services people will be passionate about. Design collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll work with a team of talented product and technology professionals, and you’ll teach them as often as you’re learning from them.

Day-to-day, as Product Designer, you’ll be:

• Working with an innovation and discovery product team (product managers, technologists and other to deeply understand customer/user behavior, pain points, desires
• Articulating user challenges as you see them and identifying opportunities (a tool, an interface, a feature or a general approach) to meet those needs
• Creating low and high-fidelity designs and prototypes for new products and services
• Picking the most important battles to add value for users and to achieve business outcomes
• Clearly identifying assumptions (yours and others’) and working to creatively challenge them
• Educating and ‘leveling up’ your team, stakeholders and customers as you go

Accountabilities:

• Contribute to building out brand new product/app within the medical device space
• Build new commercial technology product from the ground up
• Design mobile application with functionality including barcode scanning and RFID
• Design application with ERP (and potentially CRM) integrations
• Interface with business, stakeholders, partners and leadership at all levels

You’ll need to have:

• 4+ years’ experience designing products and/or services in a human-centered approach
• A Bachelor’s degree in human factors, design, psychology, sociology or equivalent work experience preferred
• An appreciation for product and design strategy, but willingness and skills to also do the work
• A clear grasp of experience design best practices for digital and real-world touchpoints
• IA, journey mapping, blueprinting, and interaction design chops and proficiency with relevant tools
• Proven visual design and creative development skills
• Experience facilitating user research and usability testing
• Great visual, verbal and written communication skills in service of storytelling
• Comfort designing within a modern product/service design lifecycle
• A “learner’s mindset” for understanding the strategy, operations, and technology powering the business
• An ability to guide team members and stakeholders through a design thinking mindset
• Willingness to travel (once that’s safe again)
• An ability to work remotely of the strategy, operations, and technology powering the business
