What are the responsibilities and job description for the #Truck Driver position at Cardinal?
- Maintain a current Class A CDL Commercial Driver’s License.
- Ensure cargo is secure.
- Transport finished goods to customer locations.
- Obtains customer signature for goods delivered.
- Collect and return of empty racks and carts for delivery locations.
- Must have knowledge of multi-real axle trucks meeting requirements of Ohio Licensing including a general knowledge of laws, regulations, and operation of stated vehicle.
- Perform pre-trip inspections of his/her vehicle and be able to explain what one inspects and why.
- Complete daily driver logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over the road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow or ice) and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Safely load and unload all equipment/materials over all terrains and properly secure all loads.
- Always provide exceptional customer service and representation of company.
- Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating, and servicing of their vehicle.
- Travel (sometimes more than 100 miles from plant) to customers and work outside.
- Report any incidents that are encountered on the road to manager immediately.
- Perform all job functions in a safe manner to avoid personal injury and equipment damage.
