Collections Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Collections Specialist is responsible for processing new sales orders, building payment plans in the A/R system, and collecting outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base. This individual will manage the AR inbox, resolve customer billing problems and reduce accounts receivable delinquency.

OBJECTIVES

• Monitor AR email inbox throughout workday for new sales orders received and process accordingly

• Respond to AR inbox inquiries related to client accounts, requests for invoice copies, etc.

• Post daily payments received in Invoiced.com

• Build daily deposits from bank reconciliation – post in QBO

• Follow up with client base on any declined payment transaction

• Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts.

• Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.

• Resolves client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.

• Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates.

• Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with Accounting Manager & Controller.

• Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.

• Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements.

• Email correspondence to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts

COMPETENCIES

• Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required

• Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment.

• Experience with Invoiced.com and Quickbooks Online preferred

• Ability to hold clients accountable for adhering to payment by consistent follow up

• Ability to form strong connections with clients through customer service

• Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.

• Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years of corporate collections experience including interaction with a large customer base.

• Quickbooks experience (Web & Desktop)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extended periods of time sitting at a desk or computer

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
