The Accounting Associate works as liaison to Accounts Payable, Payroll and operations to facilitate the timely and accurate general ledger coding and approval of invoices through purchase order authorization and completion.
Essential Functions
- Assist in creating annual blanket purchase orders for fiscal year from budget with the accounting department staff
- Reviews to ensure and approve codes assigned on purchase orders to appropriate general ledger account, department and location.
- Work with Accounting and Payroll Associates to instruct vendors on PO policy to expedite payment
- Reviews to ensure and approve codes on invoices without PO numbers to appropriate general ledger account, department and location.
- Back up Accounting and Payroll Associate job functions when needed.
- Post daily cash activity including depositing checks and coding bank transactions
- Create and upload journal entries in accounting software.
- Maintain general ledger reconciliations as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of what to report to the CEO or Chief Compliance Officer when concerns of corporate compliance arise.
- Ensure compliance within guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies (DPH, ERISA etc.) and demonstrate compliance with Home Health Foundation policies and procedures.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work & Travel
This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
- 2 year Associate Degree preferred
- 1-2 years accounting or related experience required
