Primary Function
Responsible for transcription on computer system and distribution of surgical pathology reports.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily transcription of surgical pathology reports.
- Performs a wide variety of secretarial/clerical duties, which include heavy phone usage in a busy environment.
- Correlates patient histories/reference materials for Pathology and Cytology Departments.
- Procures and routes patient histological slides/reports for appropriate pathologist/hospital as requested for consultation.
- Compiles histological slides/reports for appropriate pathologist/hospital as requested for consultation.
- Serves as backup for data entry clerk, logging daily specimens on computer.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
Vocational/Technical and training and a minimum one years job-related experience or equivalent is required.
