Career Consulting Partners has teamed up with a reputable boutique firm serving all of Southern California in both transactional and litigation matters on a wide variety of issues, including bankruptcy, real estate, HOA and condominium law, evictions, contract negotiations, advising businesses, and estate planning. We are looking for a paralegal to work out of our Glendale office on a hybrid basis.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal with a strong focus on discovery to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing the discovery process, including propounding and responding to discovery requests, filing, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
With the changing work landscape, we are more than open to someone wanting to be in the office full time or if you are seeking a more hybrid or remote schedule we are more than happy to do that as well. Having said that, whoever is considered for a position must be a team player and self-sufficient. We are looking for someone who does not require heavy supervision and can handle a basic caseload. We represent clients on a variety of matters, including real estate litigation, evictions, and probate matters.

Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare written discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions.
- Serve discovery requests to opposing parties in accordance with legal procedures and timelines.
- Review and analyze discovery requests received, gather relevant information and documents, and draft comprehensive responses.
- Organize, maintain, and manage discovery documents, ensuring all records are properly filed and easily accessible.
- File discovery requests, responses, and related motions with the court as required by jurisdictional rules. Maintain accurate records of all filings.
- Track and adhere to all deadlines for discovery-related activities, ensuring compliance with legal standards and court requirements.
- Conduct legal research to support the discovery process and address any related legal issues or objections.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates, and clarify details related to discovery.
- Work closely with attorneys and other legal staff to develop and implement discovery strategies, and to ensure cohesive case management.
- Draft and file motions related to discovery disputes, such as motions to compel or protective orders, and manage any resulting court orders.
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Experience in civil discovery, case management, law, and motions
- 1 - 3 years experience as a paralegal with a strong emphasis on discovery in a litigious environment.
- Real Estate and Probate Background a plus but not required
- Familiarity with federal and state discovery rules and procedures
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and software
- Base Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000
- The firm handles 10 - 15 appearances a week
- 401k match up to 4%
