Job Summary:
The IT Manager is a strategic partner to all business units and is responsible for programming and over sight of the Tampa Armature Works network. This role manages a team of IT professionals responsible for providing support for the organization. The IT Manager will establish close working links within all departments, to ensure strong co-ordination of IT activities, as well as the production of computerized management information systems by performing the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consults with management to analyze internal network and computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions
- Ability to maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
- Manage staff and provide support to all business units within the company
- Proficient with AX 2009, 2012R3, Dynamics AX ERP & MS SQL Servers
- Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems; hardware and software systems for the organization
- Manages, develops, implements, and monitors management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
- Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions
- Reviews reports of computer and equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, problems and disaster recovery plans updates
- Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products
- Coordinates specifications to any outsource companies
- Will review and manage any transfer or implementation of programming or other services from outsourced companies
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Information Systems Department
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement. Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities and makes themselves available to staff and provides regular performance feedback
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work
- All other duties as assigned
Education, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.; or equivalent training, education and experience
- Working knowledge and experience with Network Planning, Design and/or Architecture
- Experience establishing, documenting and communication of network designs
- Experience with customer or network support
- Experience with AX2009, 2012R3, Dynamics AX ERP & MS SQL Server
- Experience with network and solution cost models, analysis and methodologies
