What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Career Opportunities?
Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Per diem, Physical Therapist. Shifts are on an as needed basis and there is no guarantee of specific hours. Candidates should have availability to work on both weekdays and weekends.
The primary purpose of the Physical Therapist is to organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy program in skilled nursing, residential institution, outpatient clinic, or home health agency to restore function; prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; and help the patient reach his maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his capabilities.
Physical Therapist Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution offering training in this specialty, plus a supervised clinical internship of approximately 4 months to prepare for professional licensure; state licensure in Pennsylvania; CPR certification.
- Through knowledge of Principles and Practices of Physical Therapy; effectiveness in assessing client needs and in providing care and support to various age groups; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proven supervisory and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift residents and spend extended time on their feet.
- Have stamina and strength to perform the job.
- Ability to use your hands to move a person’s body and provide therapeutic exercise.
- Use mechanical aids to reduce the need to lift residents.
