This position will be responsible for overseeing the care of the horses associated with equine management and Trail Rides. Provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all owners and guests, by monitoring daily programs and day-to-day operations, consistently monitoring and enforcing safety rules, and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed. Provide necessary care for horses, including feeding, watering and grooming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Feeding, grooming and providing all care for eight to twelve horses. Provide or arrange for horse shoeing, teeth floating, vet care, etc.
- Leading guests on trial/wagon rides, providing instruction and assistance where necessary.
- Cleaning and maintaining stables, including stalls, tack room and hay barn. Maintaining pasture areas, including fencing and trails.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years hands-on Equine experience is required
- At least 6 months experience leading Trail rides / horse rides
- 1-year customer service
- Education in Equine program a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Any Certification a Plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Moderate decision-making is required under limited supervision.
- Must be able to communicate basic resort information to owners and guests.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 730am- 4pm
