To apply please visit: https://jobs.careerstaffing.net/job-detail/151102/food-safety-warehouse-manager Position Summary: The Food Safety Warehouse Manager will collaborate with operations personnel to integrate Sanitation & Food Safety along with Health and Personal Safety into all activities and decision-making processes at our 7 day a week grocery warehouse facility in Kinloch, MO. The warehouse is a 900,000 square foot building. This position reports to the General Manager. Major Responsibilities: Safety: 50% -Compliance with company policies, procedures, and agency regulations -Warehousing and Transportation safety management -Monitor and analyze H&S performance -Partners with Operations' Leadership regarding safety performance and implements safety improvements -Monitor effectiveness of performance improvement efforts, with emphasis on both leading and trailing indicators -Provide regulatory interpretations and updates, support for Operations' Leadership, oversee effective safety training -Warehouse Safety Management -Works closely with Area Health and Safety Manager -Monitor, Analyzation and Recommendations on all Health and Safety Procedures. -Monitor and improve accident frequency -Ensure each associate understands their individual role and responsibilities, as well as the group's role and responsibilities required to achieve and maintain a safe work place, Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors, Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures. Food safety: 50% -Effectively oversee and manage Penske Logistics Food Safety Program. Oversee administrative preparation and continuous improvement for all regulatory requirements and customer required food safety auditing schemes. -Ensure that all associates in the location have the proper food safety fundamental training for their positions as the Food Safety Program outlines. -Oversee and keep current all documentation for the Food Safety Program including daily verification and validation checks for critical food safety controls and monitoring activities. -Monitor and communicate activities of the Master Sanitation Program and run point to the third-party sanitation team to ensure the facility meets a high level of sanitation standards daily. -Interact and run point of contact with the third party pest control and ensure Penske is meeting our obligations to the pest control program. -Liaison to the customer Food Safety team. -Communicate to relevant personnel information essential to the implementation and maintenance of Penske Logistics’ Food Safety and Quality System. -Work closely with Corporate Food Safety Director. People: -Ensure that all supervisors understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives -Interview and hire all associates up to supervisor level -Conduct exit interviews as needed -Build engagement by expressing pride in the group where the goals are met and recognize and reward associates for their achievements -Develop direct reports through training and succession planning Operations: -Interact daily with our local customer to ensure we understand existing and emerging customer needs. -Utilize team to identify operational improvements in areas such as quality assurance, trailer loading, inventory accuracy and warehouse operations -Collaborate with other Penske sites to share best practices, leverage resources/assets, etc. Growth/Customer Experience: -Execute a process to track and record value delivered to the customer -Identify and seize profitable business opportunities -Utilize available metrics to monitor and maximize customer efficiencies and achieve cost savings Building: -Works with all Building and Facility Management to ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications: -3 years of OSHA and/or general industry safety management -Comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements -Comprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques -PCQI and/or HACCP certified and working knowledge -Pest control experience -Effective verbal and written communication skills -Effective team building skills -Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish goals & objectives -Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word -Bachelor’s Degree -Preferred knowledge of or experience with the following: -Experience with FDA/USDA food safety audits -Experience with running third party food safety audits, GFSI preferred -Analytical and problem-solving skills -Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
