Job Summary : We are partnering with a manufacturing company in their search for an Assembly Lead. Located in the Huntington area, the ideal candidate will come with 5 years of assembly experience.
Job Responsibilities :
- Receive daily schedule and goals from manager and communicate to the team
- Distribute production orders to each cell and ensure proper usage of tools for assigned tasks
- Delegate to production team which cell is working on which orders
- Enforce use of hour x hour production tracking and collect data at EOD
- Understand capacity and cycle times of each production cell
- Review bill of materials with each Assembler and verify correct parts and hardware are used
- Ensure all parts are received prior to the assembly process and in the correct quantities needed for the order
- Coordinate paperwork & transactions with other departments
- Assist cells when needed to assemble components accurately and thoroughly to approved specifications
- Ensure and enforce clean workspaces that exemplify 5S between jobs
- Inform manager of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt resolution
- Act as leader by modeling exemplary performance
- Communicate effectively with department personnel to facilitate production orders
- Follow instructions as provided by supervisor
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
- Cooperate with other employees in the department and maintain a safe working environment
- Proactively advocate for safety of employees and adhere to all company safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish
- Ability to work with SAP and drawings database
- Capable of understanding a materials list for creating a finished product is required
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and prints is required
- Knowledge of quality assurance concepts to identify and prevent errors within the production process is preferred
- Understanding of inventory control is preferred
- Ability to operate common hand tools (drill, screwdriver, hammer, etc.) is required
- Knowledge of various hardware (screws, washers, bolts, rivets, etc.) is required
- Familiarity with shop equipment such as table, panel and chop saws and kick and drill presses are preferred
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and / or walk for duration of shift
- Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool
- Capable of lifting 45 pounds
- Capable of working in a manufacturing environment
