What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Careerbuilder US?
Full-time position available with the Finance Department, Accounts Division, 414 East 12 th Street. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., *episodic telework available after completion of 6-month probationary period
· Sets up and maintains vendor records (verifying with IRS and banks information on supplier requests).
· Sets up and maintains payment processing and cancellations (ACH returns, void checks, stop payments, notifying Fiscal Officers of status, etc.).
· Maintains vouchers (close, delete, budget check, etc.).
· Maintains logs of returned checks, police vouchers for workers' compensation and postage wires.
· Maintains plumbing deposits and restoration bond receipts processing and reconciliations.
· Reconciles petty cash amounts and custodians.
· Maintains authorizations of automobile reimbursements, and updates lists of persons approved to pick up checks once processed.
· Handles duties pertaining to employee travel such as travel coordinators list, ACH set up, reconciling travel costs and reviewing for compliance with City regulations, including verification that the traveler has attended travel training.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 5 years professional experience in governmental or business accounting, including 2 years of intermediate professional accounting at the level of Accountant II; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience . *Preference given to those with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business. CPA preferred.
Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
