Flexo Operator

Heartland Sheets, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Flexo Operator in Kansas City, MO. The Flexo Operator is responsible for all activities associated with running the machine including setup, operation, cleanup, general maintenance and recommendation of improvements. Minimize waste of sheet stock. Regular and predictable attendance. Monitor quality, including, but not limited to, paper defects, correct size and print. Cross train on other machines and switch duties as needed. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs; be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. Operate the machine to run efficiently and produce quality products. Attend all plant safety meetings. Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Practice safe work habits at all times. Adhere to production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Train and assist with job duties at the machine and move in progression with Pay for Skill Program. Inspect machine and print rolls/Anilox rols before and after running to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run. Complete all necessary inventory reports in an accurate and timely manner. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Ability to work overtime as the job requires. Ability to trouble shoot issues on machine to minimize downtime. Additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred that employees have prior work experience in the corrugated industry or other 2-4 years’ work experience. Basic computer competence and working knowledge of machine. May be required to maintain a current Forklift Operator License. HEARTLAND SHEETS REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to apply basic calculations; general high school level math and ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
