What You'll Be Doing
Main Functions:
- The Emergency Room Technician provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment and the transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.
- Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with the Registered Nurse and other members of the healthcare team.
- Records and reports pertinent observations regarding patients to the RegisteredNurse (as example: vital signs, I&O, accu-check, skin condition)
- Answers patients call lights promptly, courteously and assists patients
- Performs patient safety comfort rounds
- Observes and communicates with patient
- Identifies and meets patient needs
What We're Looking For and What We Offer
Education: High School Graduate/GED (required); Technical School (preferred)
Work Experience: 0 - 1 (required); 2 - 4 (preferred)
Licensure/Certifications: Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification; BLS from the AHA (American Heart Association)
