Summary
The Demand Planner position serves as the business manager for specific product category(s) with their Merchant partner(s) across the D2C Business Unit. This role is responsible for the creation of channel level (Retail & Ecom) Demand & Receipt need volume signals to drive Supply Chain production. Ownership spans from ~9months prior to season, up to & including the season hindsight. Building strong cross functional partnerships to improve business knowledge and execution, the planner is responsible for analyzing data, correlating historical and current trends to support forward reforecasting, presenting, and defending those plan positions through regular communication of risks and opportunity. Working concurrently across multiple seasons (up to 18 months ahead), they are optimizing inventory/availability in conjunction with plans/forecasts to drive mutually beneficial improvements to our financial results and consumer experience.

Responsibilities
Breakout the ‘Top Down’ D2C Pre-Season plans to develop Channel specific (‘Bottoms Up’ Style/Color/Size Demand, & Receipt need, including safety stock) volumes in partnership with Merchandising that meet the financial targets provided.
Analyze ‘In-Season’ performance through the ‘Monthly Business Review’ (MBR) process to provide understanding of past performance and get alignment on updated forward Demand forecast, and inventory visibility, as inputs to the Revenue forecast (in relation to Prior Forecast, Last Year, & Budget)
Participate in a Monthly ‘Key Item’ review process to present Style/Color/SKU positions to validate your aggregated plans and updates on mitigating actions to optimize inventory and Revenue.
Manage D2C Segment DC inventory through reporting and facilitate cross functional action plans to build mitigation tactics, prioritizing the most impactful items to support our financial objectives.
Provide visibility through reporting on projected sell-through levels (risk and surplus), In-stock/Available to promise (ATP) levels, and projected liability for end of season.
Ownership of inter segment DC transfers to optimize inventory for Total Carhartt, (in partnership with other Business Units Planners)
Analyze size selling performance to understand current trend and future need to support ongoing Demand & Inventory activities.
Prepare hindsight analysis to identify opportunities for future plans and strategies partnering with Merchandiser(s) to disseminate key takeaways.
Establish cross-functional relationships to promote best practices and process adherence, fosters collaboration and teamwork.
Participate and initiate additional projects as directed by Merchandise Planning Leadership, looking to improve reporting, process, and consumer experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Related Field
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning or forecasting field or relevant experience
Analytical thinker with strong aptitude for Retail math and forecasting methodology
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and external partners
Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload, juggling multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
Self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual ready to bring energy and excitement to lead their business
Strong computer skills (MS Office and Planning tools) are needed, with advanced Excel capability
