Carilion Clinic is seeking a general dermatologist to join the faculty that includes 6 other general dermatologists, 2 Mohs surgeons, and 2 dermatopathologists. The faculty support an ACGME accredited dermatology residency program. The ideal applicant should be an ABMS BE/ BC dermatologist who is interested in an academic career and enjoys teaching and working with residents and medical students. Candidates with interests in research, pediatric, cosmetic, surgical dermatology, and/or general/medical dermatology are encouraged to apply. A pulsed dye laser, Palomar icon cynosure platform with numerous handpieces (ND:YAG, er:YAG, IPL, and fractional non-ablative), blue light units, narrow band ultraviolet light units, and a hand and foot unit are available
Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our relationships with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech Carilion. Physicians have the opportunity for an academic appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) and will be involved in teaching VTCSOM and visiting medical students, residents in our Graduate Medical Education programs, along with ancillary health professions trainees from Radford University Carilion. The Carilion Clinic is the largest not-for-profit integrated health system in western Virginia, serving 1.5 million people. Carilion Clinic includes seven hospitals, 220 practice locations, and 24 GME programs with 730 physicians in over 76 specialties. Enjoy working with a large primary care referral base of 200 physicians, resulting in 1000 new referrals to dermatology per month.
