Duties:
You shall provide services for Catholic Congregation Music Director. You shall lead the congregation in worship while playing a piano/keyboard (electric type keyboard) as the primary musical instrument. You shall play the chapel organ at the direction of the Lead Chaplain and/or as dictated by the music selection.
You shall attend planning and coordination meetings and provide necessary actionable input for services as prescribed by the Contracting Officer’s (KO) scheduling.
You shall regard personal information on all applicants, volunteers, and participants as confidential.
All You shall present a neat and clean, well-groomed, modest, and business-like appearance during performance of duties. You will wear conservative business professional dress for services and business casual dress for rehearsals. Appearance shall be appropriate for religious worship services and other activities identified in this PWS while performing under this contract.
All You shall communicate and behave with etiquette in the workplace that is in keeping with the respectful and courteous professional manner befitting US military religious support activities. You shall demonstrate to the COR dignity and respect, keeping in harmony with the values and norms of the Army Chaplain Corps. You shall refrain from using offensive language such as swearing, cursing, disparaging language, and other such communications.
You shall comply with all U.S. copyright law 100% of the time.

Catholic Congregation leadership team. You will arrive to the meeting with a pre-selected, 90-day music plan appropriate to the scheduled worship services. The period of 90 days extends from the date of the meeting into the future. The pre-selected music plan is a living document and song selections can be modified in consultation and with the final approval of the congregational Chaplain. Periodic planning meetings are generally limited to 60 minutes.
You will provide detailed music selections to the Congregational POC NLT three (3) business days prior to performance to allow for lyrics to be added to the presentation software as needed. Specific lyrics, verses, order of singing, and other applicable instructions must be accurate, clear, and complete.
You shall provide all required and appropriate musical support, to include prelude and postlude, singing of hymns, chorus, spiritual songs, and special music that enhances the atmosphere of worship, and other musical additions during designated worship services and rehearsals IAW COR. Worship services and rehearsals are generally limited to 90 minutes.
You shall support worship services/rehearsals on a generally weekly basis. Additional services may be added during holidays or other religious observances. Service/rehearsal locations, dates, and times are projected to be in accordance with the table below, but may change at the discretion of the COR.
You shall perform site preparation (set-up) and restoration (stowing musical equipment or other activities necessary to return facility to pre-service or pre-rehearsal configuration). You shall arrive 30 minutes prior to the commencement of worship services/rehearsals to prepare the facility for music performances and stay at least 15 minutes after the service/rehearsal ends.
You shall coordinate, coach, and integrate all musicians, technicians, and vocalists (employee, contractor, or volunteer) involved with music ministry as approved by the COR. You shall guide any worship band, choir, or ensemble to perform cohesively and in a manner that is stylistically appropriate and with the full artistic excellence of which the group is capable.
You must abide by all applicable regulations, publications, manuals, and local policies and procedures.
Audition
You must be available for the audition
Auditions will be held at the Memorial Chapel and will be recorded. . Applicants will be contacted to perform an audition after 20 April 2023. Prepared audition pieces shall be prepared for piano or organ and should be approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Piano and organ will be provided. The candidate must be prepared to sight-read, for performance of a undisclosed hymn with 10 minutes of preparation time. Auditions will be scheduled in 1 hour time blocks beginning at 9:30am on the designated audition day, Offerors will be provided one appointment time for the audition after receipt of proposal.
The audition should demonstrate at least three styles of musical history (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, French, Contemporary, etc.). Demonstrated technique through additional piano or repertoire will be important.
Offerors not complying with the terms of the solicitation, or failing to submit a complete proposal may be found non-complaint
