What are the responsibilities and job description for the CT Image Coordinator position at CARLE?
The Imaging Coordinator oversees technical staff, patient care, and work flows in the Radiology department. Serves as a staff member performing a full range of diagnostic procedures. Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and imprve work environment, patient, and physician satisfaction. Promotes the Carle Experience and Seven Pillars. Responsible for initial and annual training and competencies.
- Collaborates with technical staff in organizing and facilitating the work flow of the sections.
- Facilitates patient flow within the departments and maintains a proactive approach in dealing with patient and staff concerns.
- Works with one up to resolve office problems and facilitate solutions. Confers with one up to resolve more complex situations.
- Oversees workflow to maximize efficiencies as established by department benchmarking. Coordinates staff coverage during unexpected high exam volumes as well as minimizing staff in times of low volumes.
- Performs or has input in staff scheduling and timecard edits based on the department guidelines.
- Maintains/oversees in QA/QC programs. Directs personnel in maintaining standards set out by accrediting bodies, licensures and safety guidelines.
- Serves as a technical resource and subject matter expert of staff, management, and physicians.
- Develops training programs and evaluates technical skills of staff. Responsible for ensuring staff has completed new employee and annual employee competencies. Coordinates new hire orientations, trainings and mentors.
- Recommends to the manager/director personnel actions for hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures of staff. Performs coaching with staff and documents conversations. Performs formal record of conversations and progressive discipline with staff at the direction of their one up.
- Participates in submitting information and imaging for accreditation following department guidelines for accreditation processing. Responsible for reporting timely updates to one up on progress.
- Aids in the development, annual review and periodic updates of department policies and protocols.
- Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment including scheduling preventative maintenance, maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area. Recognizes malfunctions and service needs and reports service needs in a timely manner.
- Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
- Complies with job descriptions of modalities/Scope of practice performed within the coordinator role.
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department to which licensers are held by the technologist/sonographer.
- Complies with other job descriptions of cross-trained modalities also performed within the department.
- Required secondary registries are not required for cross trained modalities at HRHC unless otherwise required by specific compliance, licensure, or accrediting bodies.
