The Accounts Payable Coordinator I is responsible for ensuring payables data has been entered or interfaced correctly into the accounting and store systems, initiating payment cycles, various administrative duties and partnering with department functional experts as appropriate.
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
- Perform duties in the accounting and stores systems (e.g., keying, scanning, verifying data).
- Initiate daily payment cycles to issue payments.
- Various administrative duties to include processing mail, checks, and providing team support.
- Maintain process documentation, provide reporting, and assist with special projects.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of business experience required or related degree.
- General understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Basic level of Microsoft Excel required (e.g., sorting, simple spreadsheet creation, basic formulas, cut and paste)
- High school degree or equivalent
- This position requires the individual to be available for 40 hours pers week Monday – Friday and may be on-site at the CarMax Home Office location.
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Home Office and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
