What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Carnegie Hall?
As a member of the Finance Department, the Senior Accountant will support the financial management of Carnegie Hall and will report to the Assistant Controller and will work closely with the Controller and departmental financial managers.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for recording daily deferred ticketing revenue and reconciling the general ledger (MIP) with ticketing system (Tessitura)
• Recording ticketing and other related revenue and expenses per performance (concerts/events) settlement reports
• Enter fixed assets in subledger
• Responsible for bank reconciliations for various cash accounts
• Responsible for certain balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
• Assist in annual financial statement audit and 990 preparation
• Assist in the annual escheatment process
• Participate in archiving project
• Research inquiries from department managers on monthly financial reports
• Recording monthly credit card charges and staff T&E expenses
• Recording revenue and expenses for joint venture
• Participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Min 4-6 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting experience
• Exposure and experience in non-profit finance is preferable but not required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively liaise with colleagues
• Solid organizational skills: the ability to be productive under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
• Flexible work attitude: the ability to be flexible and yet focused & reliable in an environment of frequently changing demands
• Strong Computer skills including Excel and knowledge of MIP accounting system is desirable
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
