The Family Care Operations team within the Office of Human Resources is searching for a Family Care Concierge Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment.
Reporting to the AVP, Total Rewards and Family Care Operations within the Office of Human Resources, the Family Care Concierge Specialist will support the functioning of the Family Care suite of programs in an effort to meet the needs of by providing concierge-level services to families within the CMU community. This role will represent Human Resources as a readily accessible point of contact for staff, faculty and graduate students; providing information, support, guidance, and education on all family care-related topics. This role will also conduct ongoing outreach initiatives to inform and educate the CMU community about Family Care programs while working to maintain CMU and community partnerships and facilitating and participating in several relevant campus committees. This role will also work to create educational resources and events relevant to the needs of CMU families and will conduct data collection on all programs and events to inform future practice. Services include but are not limited to; childcare resources (ongoing, emergency, summer care, etc.), elder care, employee assistance programs, lactation rooms and resources, wellness/health coaching, and fitness.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on resources in the community, benefits and health plans related to family and dependent care and support available.
- Serve as the service liaison between the Office of Human Resources and campus, to parents and families, and the family and dependent care community.
- Provide timely responses to parents and families on the range of parenting and family needs at every stage from pregnancy through older teenage years including topics such as childcare resources, lactation support, parenting tips, preventative healthcare, summer camps, etc.
- Respond to requests for resources and information by understanding and accessing resources from range of areas including community resources, and CMU programs including CareLink, Care for Business and the university EAP.
- Build communities of practice around parenting and childcare; create programming, develop training, and offer a range of support and tools to the community.
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service that is timely and supportive of the needs of families.
- Continuously evaluate, design, improve and grow the family and dependent care program in order to best meet the unique needs of the University community.
- Be aware of and follow department policies, procedures and service standards.
- Serve as subject matter and point of contact for Care for Business, the CMU Family Care website, the Lactation Support Program and the Sliding Scale benefit.
- Communicate with families about the Sliding Scale Benefit. Collect and process applications and evaluate and process the benefit with each payroll cycle.
- Administer the Lactation Support Program including but not limited to collaboration with lactation room sponsors on the setup of CMU lactation rooms, the monitoring of the maintenance of rooms, processing of access requests, management of room scheduling calendars, communication with users and the maintenance of the Lactation Support Program webpages.
- Be aware of and follow department policies, procedures and service standards. Service as subject matter expert for the Family Care website.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree is required
- Experience: 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Elementary Education, or Special Education preferred
- Experience working in a community facing role with a focus on education, early childhood education, or elder care preferred
