The Role
The Plant Utility position is responsible for general housekeeping and maintenance of the plant. In this position routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Standard practices or procedures allow the employee to proceed alone at routine work. There is an occasional check of work while in progress and work is reviewed upon completion. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks assigned. Normal work hours are 7:00 am until 6:00pm Monday through Friday with weekend hours as needed. Hours of operation may fluctuate with the production goals. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and task to be performed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or Manager Safety & Health.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs as required by Sunrock, MSHA 30 CFR 56.20003, and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22.
- Responsible for operating and performing routine maintenance on quarry plant equipment.
- Perform basic labor functions, such as, cleaning, lifting, shoveling, and climbing heights up to 70 feet.
- Must be familiar with quarry equipment and plant operations.
- Accurately create daily production reports, meet production schedule, and assist in other areas of the quarry as necessary or needed.
- Maintains the daily cleanliness of the plant
- Performs daily pre-shift inspection of the work area.
- Performs daily post-shift inspection of the plant equipment.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the plant.
- Greases plant equipment as needed.
- Visually inspects plant equipment while plant is running.
- Assists with daily plant adjustments
- Assists with daily maintenance tasks.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Performs other duties assigned.
Required Experiences
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. No prior experience needed.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current North Carolina Driver s License required
