We are seeking a Structural BIM Designer to support Carollo's vision of becoming the best water consulting firm in the United States. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural design layouts in 3D applications and 2D drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff
- Assist in the preparation of structural details with project engineer's or project manager's guidance
- Develop 2D drawing views from 3D structural models and complete detailing and annotation
- Assist in the quality checking of drafted product and conformance with modeling and drawing production standards including project specific CAD/BIM requirements
- Coordination of modeling and drawing production activities between all disciplines at the project level
- Provide basic CAD technical support for junior level drafting staff
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in engineering design
- Experience in detail design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two-year technical or Associate's Degree
- Fundamental working knowledge of structural drawing layout, detailing, and drafting of structural solutions
- Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in 2D CAD using MicroStation or AutoCAD, and a demonstrated proficiency with 3D Modeling techniques using MicroStation, AutoCAD, AECOsim, OpenBuildings or Revit software applications
- Fundamental knowledge of BIM as it relates to structural design for concrete, masonry, and steel structures using Bentley or Autodesk applications
- Basic understanding of converting data between MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Familiar with concrete reinforcing standards such as CRSI and ACI 318
- Familiar with AISC weld symbols and their application
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Pay Range
- $38.00 to $45.00 an hour. Pay may be more or less depending on experience, skills, education or geographical location.
