    • Medical Billing Specialist

      • Carroll Counseling Services (within Carroll Institute) seeks a Medical Billing Specialist to join its team of mental health and chemical dependency counselors and therapists in serving the Sioux Falls community. Interested applicants must have an ability to support a growing team of mental health professionals and a desire to serve the needs of all people of all diverse backgrounds, creeds, orientations, and socioeconomic status. This full-time position includes a benefits package, with health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, Extended Sick Leave, paid holidays, and more.
      • Job Requirements:
        • High School Diploma is required, along with experience of at least 2 years with medical insurance billing using an EMR system (Therapy Notes strongly preferred). Previous patient care and medical insurance billing and credentialing services in a mental health care organization, and Medical Billing Certification are preferred. Knowledge of the different steps, codes, billing settings, and points of contact that are needed to make sure that a claim is successfully submitted and paid, along with knowledge of what to do if an insurance claim is denied, are required, along with knowledge of, and experience with the credentialing process.
      • Responsibilities:
        • Credentialing new hires with insurance companies, and maintaining therapists’ confidential credentials files
        • Submit and work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided, posting payments, write-offs, and adjustments.
        • Maintaining accurate/up to date practice information with insurance companies.
        • Creating aging reports and working to resolve outstanding balances.
        • Assisting with maintaining personnel records.
        • Verify benefits coverage for all current and new clients.
        • Other duties as assigned, which do include some general reception duties, such as answering phones, greeting clients, collecting payments and sending client statements, and more. More information available at interview or upon request.

    • Residential Technician (C shift: 4pm – midnight)

      • Carroll Institute in Sioux Falls, SD has been one of the state’s most effective substance abuse prevention and treatment facilities. Excellent career opportunity for a Residential Technician (Monitor) to join our team at Carroll Institute for The Arch Residential Treatment Facility in Sioux Falls.
      • Responsibilities:
        • As a Residential Technician you will uphold our vision to be the provider of choice for a continuum of care that includes prevention, early intervention, treatment, and continuing care for individuals at risk for, or experiencing, chemical addiction. Uphold the vision of the Division of Community Behavioral Health which is to create a system of care that is welcoming, accessible, recovery oriented, integrated and culturally competent.
        • Responsible for maintaining certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR. Be completely familiar with policies, procedures, fire regulations, health and safety regulations, and employee policies.
        • Understand and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA. Provide orientation to The Arch policies and procedures for new residents.
        • Supervise the residents’ self-administration of any medications prescribed by a physician, noting in the residents’ case record the name of the medication, time, and amount taken.
        • Responsible for assigned clerical duties (e.g. typing, filing, etc.) as directed by supervisor.
        • Keep the Arch clean and orderly by supervising and working with the residents to complete their assigned cleaning, laundry & kitchen duties.
        • Post weekly work duties and sign off on the detail list when the resident has satisfactorily completed the assigned duties.
        • Complete incident reports, stating facts of the incident and names of residents or staff involved whenever there is violation in policy/procedure. Locking doors at : 11:00pm Sunday-Thursday & 12:00am Friday-Saturday
        • Accounting for Arch residents & reporting anyone missing to the Director/on-call counselor
        • Obtaining a urine specimen for the purposes of analysis from any Arch resident who returns to the house after curfew or appears under the influence of a mood altering chemical. Obtaining urine specimens from Arch residents on a random basis. Counseling staff will advise when and who. Maintain a varied schedule of bed checks.
        • Responsible for maintaining liaison and working relationships with local referral sources and community agencies. Responsible for participation in staff meetings
      • Requirements:
        • High School Diploma or GED; excellent customer service to work with the public, clients and staff; Computer skills: Microsoft and ability to learn software used at The Arch. Dependability; accuracy in documenting files; self-motivated to succeed as a Residential Technician.
        • Shifts available: full-time overnights position; days of week vary.

    • Janitorial Services and Maintenance

      • The Arch Residential Treatment Facility, a division of Carroll Institute, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Janitorial Services and Maintenance. The Arch endeavors to help those dealing with substance use and mental health disorders turn over a new life, and successfully transition back into the community. Some hours at other Carroll Institute facilities are to be expected, in this position, as well. Hours are generally M-F daytime, with weekend availability also needed occasionally.
      • Responsibilities:
        • Uphold the vision of Carroll Institute which is to be the provider of choice for a continuum of care that includes prevention, early intervention, treatment, and continuing care for individuals at risk for, or experiencing, chemical addiction.
        • Uphold the vision of the Division of Community Behavioral Health which is to create a system of care that is welcoming, accessible, recovery oriented, integrated and culturally competent.
        • Understand and maintain confidentiality as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
        • Responsible to work cooperatively with program supervisors and residents on daily chores and duties in a pleasant and empathic manner, yet maintaining professional boundaries with residents.
        • Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment by performing tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: collecting trash and emptying waste baskets, sanitizing, vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing or polishing floors, cleaning windows, etc.
        • Assist with unloading and storing supplies.
        • Some light clearing of snow or treating ice may be required.
        • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/management.
      • Requirements:
          • High School diploma preferred, with at least 2 years’ experience in janitorial, environmental services, commercial cleaning, or similar fields. Applicants should be knowledgeable and experienced in commercial cleaning/housekeeping processes, materials, tools and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and no restriction on driving hours.
      • Physical Requirements:
        • Physical activities include but not limited to, considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, reaching overhead, balancing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
        • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or inclines and declines
        • This position will require the individual to be on their feet for the majority of their shift.
        • Close visual acuity required to assess cleanliness of areas, and for processing paperwork.
