What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERINTENDENT / FOREMAN position at Carter Construction?
Daily responsibilities
- Monitor site progress maintaining quality standards, plan specifications, and construction schedules.
- Listen, direct, coordinate, and lead in construction trade activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site. Ensure that tools and materials are stored properly. Keep job site, streets, and sidewalks clean and clear of construction debris.
- Recognize priority issues to the Project Manager.
- Work with the project and provide calculations on hours worked, staffing, and materials needed.
- Routinely perform quantity take offs for construction materials including concrete and wood backing/blocking.
- Monitor that team members comply with all comply and OSHA required safety policies and procedures.
· Take responsibility for working safely within active working environment.
- Provide guidance and training to co-workers as needed.
Candidate Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of directly related trades experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of building plans and specifications, shop drawings, and cut sheets.
- Valid drivers license
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, Excel, Sure Trak, and/or AutoCad.
- Ability lift, carry, move materials, push, supplies, tools, and ladders weighing up to 100 pounds on a routine basis throughout the day.
- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, and reach on a repetitive basis throughout the day.
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification and commercial driver’s license preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
- Have a basic set of tools and bags.
- Have a knowledge of framing and carpentry.
