JOB PURPOSE:
The Data Reporting Specialist provides support to institutional research activities, data governance, and student information systems maintenance. This position will work closely with the Institutional Research Coordinator on issues such as student retention, academic planning, and student success through the communication of clear, timely, and actionable information.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Support the department of Institutional Research in recurring and ad-hoc data initiatives.
- Collect, process, and report data to provide accurate key metrics.
- Create and provides various ad-hoc reports for the campus community, including; faculty, staff, and other external stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy of institutional decision-making.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy of institutional data.
- Provides excellent customer service to all members of the Carthage community.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
- Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience working in an institute of higher education or similar environment.
- Requires 1 to 2 years of data reporting experience.
- Requires the ability to use a personal computer and Web browser, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to reliably complete various time-sensitive requests.
- Experience with reporting software (i.e. Cognos) and data visualization software (i.e. Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate information through the use of technological tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the student life cycles in higher education.
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work with discretion around sensitive information.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with administrators and faculty members.

Salary : $32,800 - $41,500
