About the team and position
The HRIS Specialist will play an important role on Carvana's Total Rewards Team by serving as a key player who partners with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of business process requirements, leverages best practices to design, configure, and test solutions, partners with IT on integrations, runs end-user training sessions, and provides post-implementation support. We're looking for a critical thinker who is naturally curious and intrinsically motivated to continuously improve the system.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver superior end-user support for Workday systems to Carvana employees, managers, and People Operations users.
- Serves as HRIS functional expert and key point of contact for Workday related questions.
- Ensure data integrity across Workday, including manager/employee transactions and HRIS/Payroll alignment.
- Serve as the key liaison between the HR Operations, Talent Development, Information Technology, Payroll, and other business areas to ensure effective integration of Workday and other business applications.
- Provide support, including researching and resolving problems, recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements.
- Build and maintain functional configuration and features of the Workday application.
- Ensure Carvana is taking advantage of Workday's best practices.
- Test Workday new releases and ensure expected system operations across upgrades.
- Develop and Provide ad hoc reports for People Ops and Business leaders throughout the organization.
- Assist with organization-wide training for Workday functionality.
- Develops, prepares and maintains procedural manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and system documentation.
- Create / prepare existing EIBs and loading them to support mass transactions in Workday.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you should know/have:
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years of HRIS experience, preferably in Workday
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Computer Science or related field
- High degree of technical expertise, including the application of systems analysis and design
- Workday certification in one or more modules highly preferred
- Possess a solid understanding of Workday's Business Process and Security Framework preferred
- Strong collaborative skills working with diverse teams, stakeholders and changing requirements
- High attention to detail, with strong organizational, analytic and problem-solving skills
- Customer service focused with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to support and communicate policy and procedure
- Proficient in translating policy and procedure into technical requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) to successfully work with internal customers, cross-functional teams, and outside vendors
- Ability to be self-directed and proactive in work activities
- Able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
