Production Scheduler/Planner

General Summary and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for production planning and scheduling of Cascade Designs’ products. Analyze and maintain inventory levels according to actual sales and sales forecasts. Define production line capacities to support manufacturing and efficiency targets.

Essential Functions:

• Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software to release work orders and coordinate production workflow.
• Determine personnel and equipment capacities needed to support production demand.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials needed to support production.
• Monitor days-of-cover and safety stock settings to ensure inventory levels are in alignment with sales forecasts.
• Address issues regarding quality and production.

Other Duties:

• Execute actions items from engineering change implementations.
• Support new product development through investigative testing and sample production.
• Coordinate with logistics on intra-facility inventory transfers.

Job Specifications:

Education / Certifications:

• High School diploma; Further education or certification is preferred.

Experience:

• Manufacturing experience, including inventory control and production planning, is preferred.

Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & MRP systems.
• Knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
• Strong attention to detail, including organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in written form, including ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
• Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Contact with Others:

• Works closely with all department staff including production, procurement, quality, logistics, product development, and others.

Supervision Received:

• Reports to the Materials Manager, but must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.

Pressure of Work:

• Must be able to handle changing priorities and occasional heavy workload.

Scope and Impact:

• Performing duties to a high level is required to maintain customer on-time delivery, product quality, and brand equity.

Working Conditions:

• Casual office atmosphere.
