POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist contributes to our joyful and vibrant community by receiving and directing visitors, employment applicants, sales persons, employees, residents and family members to appropriate locations and parties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Welcomes visitors in person or on the telephone. Interacts with visitors, residents and staff in a joyful manner that contributes to our vibrant community.
- Provides information to inquiries in support of the marketing and sales effort.
- Maintains employee and department directories.
- Operates company phone system to receive and connect incoming telephone calls to proper party.
- Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions for house phone and console operation.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area.
- Performs related clerical work such as data entry, filling, sorting and distributing mail.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Checks bathrooms (cleanliness, toilet paper, paper towels, no spills) every 2 hours.
- Vacuums lobby & theatre daily and maintains cleanliness (dust, pick up clutter, spot clean floor).
- Enforces appropriate security procedures.
- Maintains hallway (clean & free from clutter) every 2 hours.
- Checks fax machine & distributes faxes.
- May conduct preliminary screening of employment applicants.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays Current on all OneMint and other system assigned tasks and duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Good organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other community staff.
- Possesses special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability and an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
- Maintains current food handlers card.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
- Ability to creatively problem-solve in resident care
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
- Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
