What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensic Intake Clinician (Master’s Level) - ATI Intake Assessment Team position at CASES?
Are you a licensed (or soon to be licensed) clinician or hold a Master’s Degree in Forensics and looking to learn new skills and contribute to social justice for people impacted by the criminal legal system? If so, we need your clinical and assessment skills on the ATI Intake Assessment Team at CASES! CASES is one of New York City’s leading providers of alternative-to-incarceration (ATI), youth, and behavioral health treatment programs for individuals with mental illness who are involved in the criminal-legal system. These ATI programs collectively leverage CASES’ expertise in jail and prison alternatives, youth and young adult programs, and mental health treatment, including operation of an outpatient mental health clinic.
The ATI Intake Assessment Team (ATI IAT) is comprised of a Director, Intake Psychologist, Clinical Supervisors, Senior Intake Clinicians, and Intake Clinicians. The Team conducts evaluations to identify eligible participants, prepare comprehensive reports in a timely manner, and provide advocacy to criminal justice stakeholders (e.g., prosecutors and judges) related to assessment findings and program recommendations. The CASES alternative to incarceration (ATI) and alternative to detention (ATD) programs directly help reduce the utilization of jails and prisons. The ATI IAT is the link between the Courts and the CASES community ATI/ATD programs. All ATI IAT staff collaborate closely with community program colleagues to ensure court mandates are translated into programming.
