The Protein Sales Development position will work directly with our buyers, salespeople, and vendors to grow protein sales. Responsibilities:
- Develop all protein category sales with an emphasis on becoming a consultative partner with each customer and through the training and development of sales associates’ product knowledge of protein
- Provide consulting expertise to customers on the features, advantages, and benefits of center of the plate products (beef, poultry, pork, seafood)
- Demonstrate products to customers either through meeting(s) with District Manager/Sales Associates and their customer(s) or by calling on customers independently.
- Demonstrates an exceptionally strong understanding of the industry to include: market trends, commodities, global implications on domestic supply and demand, etc.
- Able to demonstrate (including plate preparation) COP products by describing features and benefits, and distributing hand-outs containing pertinent information (product benefits, promotional opportunities, suggested prices, information on the competitor’s brands, menu ideas, etc.).
- Responsible for aiding the sales force in their day-to-day activities by answering questions and/or consultation.
- Train District Managers/Sales Associates using printed materials, sales meetings, and one-on-one work in the field.
- Assist buyers and the brokers and vendors to make strategic buys, forecast inventory needs, fill special orders, price large-volume sales, source products, and discuss inventory additions.
- Establishes customer base to ensure the COP category achieves sales and margin forecasts

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Demonstrated past performance in COP growth (sales/cases and margin)
- 3 years protein sales experience required, 5 years preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM
- Willingness to travel (up to 75%)
- Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation and required insurance
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test.
Essential Functions:
- Constant sitting for prolonged periods while performing desktop activities or driving long distances.
- Constant use of both hands/arms, in reaching/grasping/fingering while performing desktop activities, product demonstration and driving.
- Occasional lifting of product, 1-50 lbs.
- Constant use of sight/hearing/speech necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Able to prioritize workload.
