Description
Cash-Wa Distributing is the largest family-owned broad-line food distributor in the Mid-West, serving customers in 11 states. We are currently searching for a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Logistics Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing tasks to meet expected shipping dates while keeping transportation lanes efficient. Reports directly to the VP of Merchandising, with added accountability to the Transportation Manager. Responsibilities and Duties
Analyze and manage inbound truck shipments for the best possible service at the best carrier rate
Optimize inbound freight with regards to FOB, Prepaid, and Backhaul
Provide reporting and metrics to supervisor and upper management for the inbound program
Analyze vendor ship points and recommend consolidation of less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments from multiple suppliers
Utilize the backhaul capabilities of the fleet and coordinate the routes
Build and maintain great relationships with the Carriers
Responsible for negotiating rates
Work closely and efficiently with both the transportation and merchandising teams to foster communication and achieve the best possible outcomes for routing, freight costs and service levels
Qualifications and Skills
B. A. Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics, OR equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 years field logistics experience
Able to manage time and varying priorities effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to facilitate communication between departments
Must be able to work with associates at all levels
Ability to work independently while maintaining a “team” mindset
Proficient in MS Office (Excel specifically) and Inventory Management software
