Job Description

Position: Multimedia Designer

Department: Marketing

Job Summary:

Produces advertising materials for in-house and external distribution via design, illustration, and animation advertising mediums, including print, video, and web. Provides support for digital content maintenance and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conceptualizes and designs various printed materials within deadlines and budget requirements.

2. Conceptualizes and renders illustrations from models, sketches, memory, and imagination.

3. Executes and sees a project through from “thumbnail” stage to final product.

4. Produces final materials for advertising, including printing, mounting, cutting, and installing finished materials as needed.

5. Completes all necessary steps involved in multimedia projects: storyboard (produces initial ideas for approval designing web pages and banners and producing correct output for usage under supervision.

6. Maintains up to date in-website advertisements.

7. Authors, tests, and adjusts final product in single file format.

8. Assists with layout, visual appearance, and usability of websites.

9. Keeps supervisor and co-workers apprised of work status and job-related issues.

10.Understands technical challenges and provides advice on options and challenges.

11.Collaborates with outside agencies for specific output management and audio implementation.

12. Serves as a liaison of the Design unit with other departments and vendors.

13. Stays informed on the newest technical advances in print, web based, and digital display marketing tools.

14.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Working knowledge of printing and production fundamentals.

2. Knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.

3. Knowledge of printing procedures to send out high quality error-free work to vendors for production.

4. Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of Apple “Office” software or equivalent such as Microsoft Office.

5. Proficiency with multimedia options, such as graphic design, print, and video is a plus.

6. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills to meet all necessary deadlines.

7. Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.

8. Ability to operate graphic related computer programs in both a Mac and possibly an IBM based environment.

9. Ability to update the casino floor’s audiovisual sign package, including Cool Signs, NextGens and kiosks.

10. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively and professionally.

11. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations pertaining to the position.

12. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Associate degree in Visual Communications or related field AND three years professional graphic arts experience AND one-year professional multimedia design experience OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience.
2. Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of Apple “Office” software or equivalent such as Microsoft Office.
3. Must present portfolio of past work at time of interview.
4. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events as needed.
5. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
6. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of Direct Mail criteria and specifically Variable Data capabilities and its applications.

2. Proficiency in Premier Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion and QuickTime Pro.
