Job description
Seeking a friendly, hardworking, motivated individual for a bookkeeper position (30 hours per week, Monday - Thursday). Must be very detail oriented, trustworthy and comfortable working in a small office environment. The individual will be working on various projects and assignments. They will work alongside and in support of the entire accounting and tax team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record transactions into accounting system
- Collect and record client information into software
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
- Maintain monthly bank accounts and reconciliations
- Maintain monthly credit card accounts and reconciliations
- Create journal entries
- Create financial reports
- Maintain physical and digital files and records pertaining to financial information
- Recognize financial variances and report significant issues
- Complete payroll using third party software
- Assists in the preparation of federal and state returns for corporate and individual tax returns including the filing of extensions and data entry.
- Collection, analysis and communications regarding data necessary to prepare tax returns, both with clients and other staff members
- Assist and prepare other types of filings for federal and state (W-2, 1099 series, payroll and sales tax returns etc.)
- Act as the point of contact for accounting and tax clients and provide customer support by responding to client inquiries
- Assist in administrative tasks and other miscellaneous duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to time sensitive deadlines of the work needing to be completed the individual must be:

- Able and desire to consistently learn different software, procedures and skills

- Able to communicate clearly both in written and verbal form with co-workers and clients
- Able to work as a team toward the common goals of the business and the good of our clients
- Passed Intermediate Accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks is a must.
- Proficient with Word and Excel
You will have supervision and guidance when needed, however, your day to day tasks for the clients you are assigned to will be your own responsibility to maintain with accuracy and in a timely manner according to priority and deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
