A&E Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacist – Staff to join our team in our Arden Hills office. The Pharmacist – Staff will perform functions related to the pharmacy. This role requires professional judgment and extensive technical training.
The ideal candidate should be able to answer pharmaceutical questions and display exceptional customer service skills. The ideal candidate must display compassion and understanding in addition to attention to detail and excellent administrative skills.
Hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm for majority of shifts. This role will do one closing shift 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm and rotating weekends, every 6th weekend.

Pharmacist Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and verify all prescriptions, orders, and labels for completeness, accuracy, and safety as ordered by physicians and other authorized health care personnel.
- Provide clinical expertise, counsel on medications, answer questions about prescriptions, provide information about over-the-counter drugs, and make recommendations to patients, health care workers, or others as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records and diligent documentation of queries within pharmacy software and resident database as needed.
- Maintain open and effective communication with residents, resident facilities, health care workers, fellow employees, and management.
- Implement standard compounding procedures as outlined by USP chapters <795> and <797> when filling non-sterile medication and sterile medication prescriptions, respectfully.
- Abide by controlled substance protocols and filling procedures when handling controlled
- Provide on-call services if assigned for that shift
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Current Pharmacist License in good standing within the state of practice (Minnesota).
- High level of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and efficient typing skills.
- Experience with FrameworkLTC is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evening, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to walk and stand on feet and/or sit for periods of time. Typical shifts are 8 hours.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred.
- Experience with handling and administrating immunizations preferred.
