What are the responsibilities and job description for the e-Bike Guide position at Castle Hot Springs?
This position as an adventure guide is to facilitate safe, meaningful, and quality outdoor experiences. We are looking for someone who enjoys sharing the outdoors with our guests and possesses a clear passion for the outdoors. An ability to interact with our guests professionally is essential. An ability to teach technical skills to guests is required and will be covered in our training. This is an outdoor guide position with an emphasis on a broad range of outdoor activities including naturalist skills, narrative skills, interpersonal skills, and clear communication. Our team covers 1150 acres and this position includes a wide range of duties and expectations including maintenance of equipment, equipment cleaning, and light construction. This job description includes but is not limited to the duties above. There is a wide range of opportunities and areas for growth depending on experience and ability to take on new skills.
Work Performed:
Creates a guest experience that is of the highest level of service, by utilizing resources and cross-departmental communication.- Training will be provided in specific CHS activities and adventures. Ability to multitask and gain a thorough knowledge of all activities and adventures offered, specifically e-bikes and air gun shooting.
- Leading groups of up to 6 on daily instructional e-bike outings ranging from beginner to advanced in 2 hour sessions hours.
- Completes daily assigned checklists and job duties with a sense of urgency.
- Work collaboratively with fellow guides and all management.
- Assisting with all outdoor equipment maintenance and usage logs.
- Records all defects and provides solutions to ensure guest satisfaction with all departments by utilizing full-circle customer service, especially when requests are not immediately met.
- Ability to perform basic bike maintenance.
- Is able to offer an additional explanation of all general on property location and functions, classes, hikes, and lectures/special events while communicating with guests.
- Has an active knowledge of all guest areas resort-wide, including CHS front desk, Activities Department, etc.
- Communicates resort-wide cancellations/changes that may negatively impact guest experience.
- Walks CHS facilities with a critical eye to ensure appropriate cleanliness and guests’ needs are being met.
- Knows all safety and emergency procedures/ accident prevention policies
- Operates in accordance with the Castle Hot Springs Vision.
- Completes other duties as assigned
Supervision Received: Adventure Director, General Manager.
Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of CHS information at all times
- Requires independent decision making and deductive reasoning abilities
- A large amount of communication and coordination with other departments
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of outdoor recreation work experience are a baseline.
- Current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) preferred.
- College degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior guest relations training.
- Must have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease.
- Computer skills required.
- Willing and able to work all shifts including weekends/holidays.
- Must have reliable transportation.
