Job Summary:
The Material Handler must have forklift experience with high attention to detail to move racks of glass sheets in the facilities. Will be operating the company truck to pick up and deliver products as needed. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL License. Build wooden crates and distribute materials as needed. This position will be supporting two different departments and must be able to appropriately prioritize workload.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Load/Unload inbound and/or outbound freight from trailers/containers
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
  • Must be able to maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Maintains proper FIFO (First in First Out) staging at all times to ensure all items are staged in the order in which they expire (Oldest to Newest).
  • Completes daily forklift checklist at the beginning of each shift.
  • Must be able to report to work as scheduled and on time
  • Cross train in multiple rolls to offer coverage when needed
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to operate forklift and other similar powered industrial equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to successfully complete forklift certification training and exam
  • Good oral and written English skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Education/Experience:
  • High school or equivalent
  • 1 years of proven working experience as a Forklift Operator or buyer - preferred

  • Frequently required to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on pallets at various heights.
  • Frequently move merchandise from mezzanine stock and prepare products for delivery to manufacturing departments.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the facilities.
  • Work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to safely and properly operate powered industrial equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Be able to operate pallet jacket, sit down, stand up forklifts, and tape machines in a warehouse setting.
