Career Area: Administrative Support Job Description: Caterpillar's SPM Oil & Gas division has an exciting opportunity for a BI Developer. The BI Developer I will work on the BI team to help develop BI solutions to meet business requirements. They will contribute to the design, development, deployment, support, and documentation of BI solutions. The candidate will be expected to work with both onshore and offshore team. Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: Including but not limited to: Work with internal/external team. Help in the design and implementation of enterprise analytics and performance management solutions in a complex enterprise environment. Contributes to the designing, configuring and deploying enterprise performance solution using the Microsoft SQL Server analytics technology stack. Contributes to the data architecture and data integration with dimensional data modeling, data sourcing / mapping, and data flow within the implemented solution. Responsible for analyzing business/data requirements, estimate, and perform data preparation. Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Support operational monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the Microsoft SQL Server & Cognos analytics platforms. Problem solver with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions. Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and remain flexible to changing requirements. Additional duties as assigned by manager. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience 3 years of Cognos experience 3 years of Power BI experience Requires 3 years of BI experience utilizing a variety of technologies. 3 years of relevant experience in planning and delivering enterprise-wide analytics and data warehouse solutions using proven solution delivery methodology frameworks and best practices. Familiar with data warehousing, ETL, DAX. Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Automation, Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Lake Analytics. Data analysis skills, Dimensional Modeling, experiences in designing Star Schemas. Working knowledge and experiences in data design / dimensional data modeling. Working knowledge and experiences in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and SQL Server development tools. Top Candidates Will Also Have: Experience with Agile and DevOps methods desired. Familiar with software development life cycle. Experience in the oil or fracturing industry is a major plus. Preferred location is Forth Worth, TX. Other locations may be considered.
