As the IT Architect 1, you will be developing solution architecture through design and development of robust IT solutions and processes to support PSLD’s Outbound (Finished Goods – Prime Product Machines & Engines) Transportation business functions. This includes leading overall design, deployment and execution of solutions and architecture for the outbound transportation. This role closely collaborates with the business, IT teams, and external software providers to develop a technology roadmap that enables the business strategies. Additionally, you will lead design and deployment of solutions supporting PSLD’s Transformation to drive OPACC improvement that focus on digitalization, data analytics, system modernization and rationalization that help enable key business activities and delivers high quality and reliable IT solutions. Responsibilities: Be accountable to ensure successful completion of Solution Architecture on-time, within budget and high-quality working with diverse global business and IT members across enterprise Be responsible to define and co-develop the business processes, solution for the identified business challenge, and project requests Be accountable to Collaborate with Software Architects and Project Managers to develop the project estimate and staff plan to realize the project goals Manage multiple projects concurrently Lead the solution architecture development during kick-off, planning, execution & closure phases Document requirements from various business partners Perform stakeholder management and provide ongoing solution architecture updates with IT and Business Leaders, Enterprise Architects, and other global architects Resolve issues and eliminate roadblocks to realize project solution architecture to ensure no delay in project implementation Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science (IT), or a related discipline 8 (plus) years of progressively complex IT experience in solution architecture, software design, development and testing Minimum 5 years of broad experience in Solution Architecting in Enterprise IT Systems in Transportation business functions, focusing on Transportation Management Systems solution development, configurations, and deployment Experience in IT architecture development in either Waterfall or Agile project methodology Strong understanding and experience in Transportation, Order Management, Warehouse Management, and supply chain concepts Experience in integrating 3PL systems with enterprise systems Collaborative skills working with business partners in developing business processes, creation of Architecture Design Documents and share with senior IT and business leaders Understanding and experience with the software development lifecycle and working with IT development team in realizing project solutions Organization and planning skills Ability to adjust plan to evolving business needs Intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence The ability to travel domestically and internationally up-to 5% of the time Top Candidates will also have: Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science (IT), or a related discipline Knowledge of configuration and integration experience working with Blue Yonder Transportation Manager Knowledge and experience in project management knowledge areas (Cost and Time-Line Estimation, Resource Planning) Strengths in areas of personal planning, initiating actions, delegation, building consensus, decision making, leadership, and interpersonal skills Innovation mindset Lean or 6 Sigma training Experience handling teams in Distributed/Mainframe/Integration/Salesforce Experience working with Software as a Service (Saas) and Platform as a Service (Paas) providers The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Certified Supply Chain Professional or equivalent supply chain related certifications Additional Information: Relocation assistance is available for this position #LI #BI This employer is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.
