Career Area: Marketing / Sales / Product Support Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: Provide relationship management for assigned Machine Business Division (MBD)—Solutions and Product Support (S&PS) Group. Align and integrate marketing solutions through delivering strategic value to the MBD and to the Financial Products Division (FPD) field organization to support the sales of Caterpillar equipment. May review the work of or provide guidance to lower level Market Development team members. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Serves as the primary relationship manager for assigned MBD S&PS Group. Activities are focused on alignment and integration with the MBD S&PS through delivering strategic value to the MBD and to the FPD field organization to support the sales of Caterpillar equipment. 2.Serves as the primary relationship manager for Global Revenue Management Group (GRMG). Activities are focused on alignment and integration with the GRMG through assistance in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures. 3.Participates in the development of global marketing campaigns. 4.Develops global and regional merchandising programs for the assigned MBD using policies and procedures set forth by FPD’s Global Marketing and GRMG. 5.Assesses market opportunities for entry into identified segments. Proposes joint marketing and merchandising programs to enhance sales after determining the financial needs of an identified market opportunity for the assigned MBD. 6.Develops and provides company and dealer training on financial products, merchandising programs and acquisition alternatives, as well as customer seminars to promote Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (CFSC) services in both new and existing market opportunity. 7.Develops and provides FPD and financial merchandising training to Caterpillar Inc. and its marketing employees. 8.Identifies global and regional marketing material needs and provides content for materials. 9.Participates in Marketing Operations Council with local Marketing Managers. 10.Contributes to the creation, monitoring and delivery of the MBD scorecard. 11.Works with Cat Insurance, FCC and AccessAccount to sell the entire portfolio of FPD products. 12.Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them. 13.Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment. JOB REQUIREMENTS: SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE: 1.Thorough knowledge of and the ability to identify and develop concepts for particular market segments by planning and implementing successful market strategies to assist in achieving the business plan and/or incremental business. 2.Demonstrated ability to identify specific financial marketplace needs (programs or new markets) through direct contact with customer and dealer personnel. 3.Demonstrated ability to coordinate with product, distribution and service business units as well as CFSC Regional Offices to define market needs and propose joint marketing and merchandising programs to enhance sales. 4.Ability to maintain current finance plans to ensure their appropriateness and competitiveness. 5.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial marketing programs (finance plans, focus programs, dealer incentive programs, etc.) responsive to customers and dealer needs. 6.Ability to develop and conduct company and dealer sales force training and customer seminars promoting CFSC. 7.Proven ability to assist CFSC Regions and Dealers with the creation and development of financial marketing strategies and materials to support dealer and user comprehension and usage of CFSC services. 8.Advanced knowledge of CFSC procedures and operations of the functional business units. 9.Demonstrated knowledge of the industries served by Caterpillar dealers. 10.Working knowledge of market segments--application of equipment and acquisition needs of end users. 11.Ability to travel. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year college or university degree in any discipline and a minimum of 5 years exempt experience in credit, customer services, collections, marketing and/or financial statement analysis is recommended. Previous experience must be progressively increasing in responsibility and accountability and demonstrate an ability to gain in knowledge, skills, and responsibility such that a level of full competency can be reached.
